Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. Learn how we collect, process, and protect your information.
At BigBlueButton Host (owned and operated by Bymond Private Limited), one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors and clients. This Privacy Policy document describes the types of personal data we collect, record, and process when you visit our website, register a billing account, initiate customer support, or use our managed virtual classroom hosting services.
This policy applies to website visitors, billing portal accounts, technical support coordination, and hosted managed service data. If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us at privacy@bigbluebutton.host.
Data Controller vs. Data Processor
Bymond as Data Controller: Bymond Private Limited acts as the Data Controller for personal data collected in connection with your website visit, billing profile registration, subscription billing portal transactions, sales outreach, and technical support administration.
Bymond as Data Processor: Bymond Private Limited acts as the Data Processor for any classroom data, audio/video streams, participant metadata, chat messages, presentation slides, and recording files initiated and controlled by you on your managed virtual classrooms. Under this scope, the Customer acts as the Data Controller.
Information We Collect
We collect personal data directly from you and automatically through your interaction with our service interfaces.
- Account & Registration Data: Name, business name, physical address, business tax ID (GSTIN for India), email address, and telephone number when you create a billing portal profile.
- Billing & Invoicing Details: Subscription transaction history, manual payment reference numbers (UPI/bank transfer), and payment status. Credit card data is collected directly by our payment processor (Stripe) and is not stored on Bymond servers.
- Technical Support Data: Emails, live support chat logs (via Tawk.to), browser details, OS version, logs, and screenshots you share with our support teams to troubleshoot service issues.
- Usage & Connection Log Files: IP addresses, browser types, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), date/time stamps, page click stats, and API endpoint usage statistics are logged to maintain system security and integrity.
How We Use Your Information
We process your personal data for the following legitimate purposes:
- To provision, maintain, and secure your managed BigBlueButton server infrastructure.
- To verify manual India UPI/bank payments and manage automated billing and subscription portals.
- To respond to and coordinate technical support tickets and live chats.
- To debug, optimize, and improve platform performance.
- To detect and prevent payment fraud, security breaches, and Acceptable Use Policy violations.
- To comply with tax laws, financial auditing, and regulatory requests.
International Transfers & Global Processing
Support Processing Location: While virtual classroom data residency is governed by your plan selection (e.g., EU-specific hosting options), support tickets, emails, live chat dialogues, and operational account metadata are processed globally, primarily by our engineering and customer support staff located in India.
Data Transfer Safeguards: When personal data is transferred internationally, we ensure that appropriate technical controls, confidentiality obligations, and standard contractual clauses are implemented to protect your data.
Cookies & Pixels
BigBlueButton Host uses cookies to authenticate logged-in sessions on the billing portal, maintain Stripe checkout verification state, remember interface preferences, and prevent cross-site request forgery (CSRF).
Third-Party Integration Cookies: Cookies may also be set by our embedded support chat widget (Tawk.to) and regional infrastructure providers. You can choose to block cookies through browser controls, but doing so will restrict billing portal login and card payment processing.
Third-Party Subprocessors
We disclose our usage of third-party infrastructure and tooling sub-contractors (e.g. AWS, DigitalOcean, Oracle, Stripe, Brevo, Zoho, Cloudflare, Tawk.to). We maintain an updated, centralized list of all active subprocessors.
Please view our dedicated Subprocessor Policy page for specific details regarding vendor name, purpose, and processing locations.
CCPA/US Privacy Rights
Under US state privacy regulations (like CCPA/CPRA), clients have the right to request disclosure of personal data categories collected, request erasure of their account data, and opt-out of data sale or sharing.
Bymond Private Limited does not sell, trade, or rent client personal data to third-party ad networks or brokers.
If you would like to exercise your US privacy rights, please contact us at privacy@bigbluebutton.host.
GDPR Data Subject Rights
Every client is entitled to the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restrict processing, object to processing, and data portability.
Request Routing for Classroom Participants: Because Bymond acts as a Data Processor for hosted meeting data, individual students, instructors, and class participants wishing to exercise their rights must submit their requests directly to the Customer (Data Controller) operating the specific LMS/meeting. Bymond cannot modify or delete classroom participant details without direct instruction from the customer.
To exercise your rights regarding billing accounts or support data, reach out to us at privacy@bigbluebutton.host.
Children's Information
Since BigBlueButton is widely used in the education sector, protecting minor student data is a core priority. Clients (educational institutions, schools, tutoring centers) are responsible for providing appropriate notices and obtaining required parental consent before enrolling minor students in virtual classrooms.
Bymond does not knowingly compile marketing profiles or sell personal data of children under the age of 13.
