Acceptable Use Policy

Guidelines and restrictions for virtual classroom activities and storage usage

BigBlueButton Host (operated by Bymond Private Limited) provides dedicated, high-performance infrastructure for remote education, classrooms, and webinars. To preserve platform stability, secure user data, and guarantee compliance with local and international laws, all clients and their participants must adhere to this Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP").

1. Prohibited Classroom Activities

You may not use our servers, virtual rooms, or API endpoints to host, stream, record, or distribute any content that:

  • Violates federal, state, local, or international laws and regulations.
  • Infringes on the intellectual property, trademark, patent, or privacy rights of any third party.
  • Hosts or streams sexually explicit materials, graphic violence, or exploitative content.
  • Promotes hate speech, harassment, defamation, or direct threats of harm against individuals or groups.
  • Aims to distribute malware, virus links, phishing campaigns, or unsolicited commercial messages (spam).
  • Conducts unauthorized activities like network scanning, penetration testing, port probing, or denial-of-service (DoS) vectors on our nodes.

Moderation & Intermediary Role

Bymond Private Limited acts as a technical intermediary. We do not inspect live video streams, webcam feeds, whiteboard annotations, or participant audio. The client (Data Controller) assumes complete liability for participant conduct, moderator oversight, and legal consent for recordings.

2. Platform Resource Restrictions

Managed hosting plans include specific allocations for concurrent users, bandwidth, and recording disk space. Abuse of these resources risks platform stability:

  • No General Storage: Our recording servers are optimized to compile class playbacks. Using recording space for general cloud storage, video hosting (non-BBB files), or backup storage is strictly prohibited.
  • Fair-Use Bandwidth: Subscriptions are bound by fair-use bandwidth limits. If your classrooms consume bandwidth or CPU cycles that exceed plan parameters or negatively impact adjacent clients on shared configurations, we will ask you to upgrade or temporarily restrict high-resource features.
  • Credential Protection: You must not expose your API secrets, moderator credentials, or database logins to public channels. If we detect credential leakage, we will rotate your credentials immediately.

3. Policy Enforcement & Suspensions

Bymond reserves the right to take direct action to secure our servers, employees, and networks. If we identify an active classroom or account in violation of this AUP, we may:

  • Issue an operational warning and request immediate content removal.
  • Disable specific high-resource functions (like webcam streams or recording tools).
  • Temporarily suspend the client account, API credentials, and class servers under our Suspension Policy.
  • Terminate the subscription immediately for severe or repeated violations.

Report an Abuse Violation

If you identify an active classroom on our network hosting unlawful, copyright-infringing, or abusive content, please report the incident to our privacy and security team immediately:
